Romanesco: grüner Blumenkohl aus Italien, in zwei Sorten angeboten:
glatt wie grüner Blumenkohl, und pyramidenförmig (*). Diese
pyramidenförmig ausgebildete Sorte ist die häufigste Sorte.
Romanesco wird wie weisser Blumenkohl zubereitet. Er ist zwar intensiv
im Geschmack, schmeckt aber delikater als Blumenkohl, und riecht beim
Kochen nicht so intensiv wie Blumenkohl.

Ernte: Wintermonate bis Frühling, hängt von der Sorte ab.

(*) Like regular cauliflower, Romanesca has a tightly compact head of
florets attached by clusters of stalks ! but there the similarity in
appearance ends. Romanesca, which hails from northern Italy, is a
beautiful pale lime green color; its florets, rather than being
rounded, rise in a pyramid of pointed, spiraling cones.
